B. J. Wright

Prominent owner B.J. Wright, whose major stakes winners include Jeranimo and Ultimate Eagle trained by Mike Pender, is recovering from open heart surgery performed a couple weeks ago at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena. He is out of the hospital and recuperating at a skilled nursing facility in Pasadena. Wright hopes to be going home in three or four days.

Mike in SB · It is time to move the Big Cap to earlier in the year, maybe switch the Strub and Big Cap and run the Big Cap in February. Santa Anita can't compete with the 10 million World Cup and todays trainers want 6-7 weeks between races. The Big Cap is too great and historic a race to be overshadowed by the World Cup. By the way I think they are making a mistake by skipping Big Cap. Game On Dude loves Santa Anita, the track is perfect for his racing style and with the Breeders Cup in California he could have a big shot at Horse of The Year. 12 Clip · Impressive win in the San Gabriel. Beat some good turf horses on a good surface. Like the way he exploded up the rail. This could be a big year for Jeranimo. When he was younger he was a bit high-strung. But now as he's gotten older, he's alot more mellow and focused. This son of Congaree, has the potential to put together a very good season.
