Leave it to Mary Lou and Lukas to get in the middle of the Rachel Preakness controversy.

Whitney's Luv Gov is being pointed to the Preakness but will be withdrawn if his entry means Rachel Alexandra would be excluded from the race...as per John Hendrickson breeding and racing manager for the Whitney Stable...reported at bloodhorse.com. He goes on to say he doesn't know how this all got started and calls the whole episode embarrassing.

Quit being a coward, Ms. Whitney! Quit trying to block Rachel Alexandra from runnng in the Preakness, just because you are scared that she will beat your colts! If you have the best interests of the sport at heart, you would abandon your selfish efforts and conspiring with the owner of a fluke Kentucky Derby winner and let that filly win. The sport needs a true champion, now that Curlin has retired, and that champion is Rachel Alexandra and NOT Mine That Bird. Had Friesan Fire not got hurt at the beginning of the race, or I Want Revenge been scratched, or Pioneerof The Nile had more expeirence on dirt, Mine That Bird would never have won the Kentucky Derby and we all know that. If you continue on your cowardly and selfish path, expect a full boycott against you, your ranch and all your horses, regardless of how good they are, were or will become.

Cowards have no place in horse racing!

Shame on you for trying to keep ANY horse out of the Preakness. Especially one that raised so much money for your pet project. Apparently good will only goes one way. It ought to be a crime what you are planning to do. Conspiring with Mr. Allen to keep a better horse than both of yours out of the race. Maybe a boycott of the Preakness would show just how many people want the filly to run. Shame.
