VERY disappointed with his terrible run in the Godolphin Mile, something was clearly wrong, he was just not the same horse!!! I blame the change of silks!!!! The horse clearly didn't like the jockeys new colours!
Sending PJ to the Bluegrass makes zero sense esp with the Wood coming up so weak. This makes about as much sense as sending Battalion Runner to the FL Derby with the Santa Anita Derby being so a weak field.
West Coast has a great pedigree :) watch out for this one
Now that Unique Bella is out of the Kentucky Oaks, Farrell has the chance to step up and run away with the win. Frankly, her only competition that comes immediately to mind is Miss Sky Warrior or maybe Elate.
Coolmore Ireland recently posted an article on their band of foster mares and the foster mares' original foals if anyone's interested. The foals of foster mares needed to care for the thoroughbred foals are all hand-raised and cared for by Coolmore staff before being either retained or rehomed. Coolmore likes to keep up with these guys and there are plenty of photos and stories of how they're doing in the article. There's also a picture at the top of Royal Delta's Galileo filly and her foster mom, Ginger! Here's the link for anyone that's interested: http://coolmore.com/the-foster-mares-foals/?farm=ireland
In an interview with the Racingpost, Elsworth has expressed high hopes for Swiss Storm's chances in the 2,000 Guineas: "He has considerable ability but we'll be a lot wiser as to whether he can win a Guineas when we've had the trials. He's run twice and won his maiden authoritatively at Newbury. We'll have to go for one of the trials and, having won at Newbury, the Greenham might be favourite." He'll be up against a strong-looking contingent this year, but Elsworth is cautiously optimistic of his colt's chances. It won't be too long now 'til we get a chance to see how well some of these colts have weathered the winter! Anyone knows how is he doing?
Well it's hit the board in the Fla Derby or back to Allowance races for Talk Logistics. I see talent there. He just hasn't put it all together. May be the added distance will help.
Gonna give Talk Logistics one more shot. Maybe the added distance will help.
Coverage is starting to pick up. http://www.espn.com/horse-racing/story/_/id/19014744/arrogate-horse-everyone-mind-right-now
Win the Triple Crown, every race in record time...Hands down greatness ! If we had the classics that Arrogate won.....in the 70's Secretariat wins them !!
Many folks just don't give Arrogate the credit he deserve and many of these same folks have lost playing against him!! Even the trainer gave him exceptionally high praises and I respect that, because he has proven himself time and time again how well he can train top notch horse. I think some people don't understand that most times horse takes a while to develop and some times get setbacks for different reasons. Sometimes some horse never made it back from setbacks and we never found out what they could have been, such Danzig! Now we have some very talent young horses like Unique Bella and Mastery who recently had setbacks and will probably miss Triple crown races or never make it back to racing. So what determines that a horse is Great or what makes a horse Great ?...Is it wining all his races, is it wining a Triple Crown, is it beating older horses, is it wining the most purse money, Is it beating his peers, is it wining on multiple tracks, is it wining on all tracks, it is wining at every distance, is it setting records, is it wining on and of the lead, is it wining on any track condition, Is it wining on every continent, is it running a match race, is it coming back from a setback, is it wining by the widest margins or maybe is it wining at every distance ? What must a horse prove that he is truly Great ? One thing I know for sure, I have had the fortune of seeing and had the gratitude of enjoying some of the Greatest run and I have seen another in Arrogate, because he has come back from setbacks and proven he can be a devastating beast to reckon with !!!
Arrogate outstanding horse... but not a Secretariat............ YET
Don't get me wrong, I love my mom, but I can't believe she was visiting the weekend of the Dubai meet and I couldn't watch this live!! I was stuck sneaking peeks at the phone and only being able to post one comment and it wasn't even on Arrogate! As a die hard Chromie, let me express my intense excitement and thrill with Arrogate's amazing win! I thought for sure he'd break Chrome's time record and he sure came close in that mud which is pretty awesome. I'm one of those people who finds it hard to compare current super stars to previous ones because of the different ways the sport runs nowadays. However, on pure talent alone, Arrogate is pretty darn impressive! I'm excited to see him run again and I so hope we get to enjoy him for more than two more races. Just such an impressive victory from a very, very talented athlete. Also, many on here are very aware I love me some Chrome and I have to admit, each time Arrogate has won, and will continue to, I feel like it flatters Chrome a bit. Maybe Chrome will be the horse who managed to get the closest to beating this beast of a horse. Keep up the dominating ways, Arrogate! P.S. Gun Runner ran one heck of a good race too! Very proud of our American runners :)

The locals usually have a step up on shippers as they are used to that VERY LONG stretch (longest of any mile main course in North America). FG form does not translate well to most tracks ABOVE its class.
from the Equibase website for definitions: colt An ungelded (entire) male horse four-years-old or younger. the flavor of the month is not yet a HORSE according to them. http://www.equibase.com/newfan/glossary-full.cfm
I was impressed with this colts first race at Keeneland when he finished 2nd. He came back and ran 2nd at CD in an even type effort. The colt seemed to put everything together in his last race on 1/26 at FG. Per Equibase, he was bumped at the break and was eased up at the end of the race. I watched the race live and Florent G had a nice hold of him as he lead from gate to wire. He let him run some in the stretch as the colt pulled away to win by 7 1/4 lengths. He ran like his sire Hard Spun as he won with ease. Florent G was pretty excited about the colt after the race. This colt could turn out to be a KD contender. I'm looking forward to seeing how he progresses in the Risen Star.
  • Icelocks · I will say you have a keen eye and I believe he will be very dangerous in the LD this Saturday 4/1/2017 !! Therefore, I will use him abundantly in my exotics:) Good luck !! · 8 hours ago
Fingers crossed.Would really appreciate a healthy Empire.Hope they have gotten the right person to get him forward from where he was at.The last work sounded like he is foward.A sound Empire would benefit all involved.I won't give up on him until the Team pulls the plug and back off. This Derby is waiting for someone ton make a big step forward. If all goes well he might be in a perfect position to be that someone still lightly raced.Fingers crossed.
