t_v, Thanks for the reminder of his 1917 date of birth. I think this is his official page; the other is one of those alternative universe pages that occur on HRN occasionally.
Is this post good for him? I really don't know XD
Probably the wrong web site BUT 100th anniversary of this colt coming up soon.
This race is heavily draw dependent. Stallwalkin Dude i think drew well on the rail and will sit a ground save trip and if he can find room on the inside, sneak up on the rail and get the win. Otherwise, I like My Catch as the speed.
Is he OK?
I'm pulling for Apollo Kentucky. I love his name & I like his pedigree.
Perfect post for Arrogate at post 9, should have an easy stalking trip. Would be shocked if he ran into any issues in this race.
Serious question...could Arrogate be 1/9 in this race? Equal weights, good post, no Chrome. No offense to the other horses, but no one is even in the same zip code. I guess you could argue Gun Runner is better as a 4yo and could threaten since speed usually plays well at Meydan, but that's it.
Anyone know the post time Saturday for this race?
BREAKING NEWS: Norman Casse reports that Classic Empire worked 5F in 1.01.4 at the Winding Oaks Training Center in Ocala. Florida. Will determine later if CE will be ready in time for the Bluegrass.
Arrogate draws post 9
9 is a good post, perfectly reasonable, there's a lot of outsiders inside of him, and "Lani" is in post 4, so that's pretty much a 'empty gate', coz "Lani" will be 10 to 15 lengths behind the field after 1 furlong, ha ha ha!!! "Gun Runner" has a very good post in 5, he and "Long River" will be the front runners in the race, "Arrogate" will get a good trip, he will sit and stalk in 3rd or 4th, no problems here! :-)
Support for Keen Ice here. One of the reasons I love Keen Ice is that I see him as the anti "today's way of thinking" horse. Meaning, in today's world of Haskins Derby Dozen where if you finish 3rd in a prep you are suddenly no longer a good colt. Meaning, if you don't somehow finish first in every race like some type of robot, you are brushed aside. Meaning, everything is looked at in the very short term, what have you done for me lately(in your last race). Meaning, durability and grit are forgotten terms. Meaning, if one shows support for a Keen Ice then everyone and their brother has fangs out ready to say that KI is not as good as this horse or that horse. In Keen Ice's last 13 races-11 have been Grade 1. Is he Arrogate, no, but he's been a fun horse to follow and his handlers have never shied away from the best competition. Here's hoping he passes some tired horses and sneaks in for a show.
I told everyone when Nyquist was hurt No one listened because he was working he was showing he can Run. Horses can all Run even when they are not 100% like CC after breeders cup I told everyone the way Victor rode the horse slow down and pick up again did something to CC. CC worked fine But to Race that level to run 80 to 90 % to me the horse is hurt. When the Screws are not tight I call them Hurt.
American anthem and Gormly did it to each other when they went in front together and pushed each other over limit Last year when Mario Gutierez in the Preakness pushed Nyquist over the limit I knew the horse would never be the same In the Derby fire line was used way over his limit never the same horse again
"Gun Runner" has got a very good post position in the Dubai World Cup, he will get pace pressure from "Long Rider" though, so those two might burn each other out! But this is how I see the race going. "Gun Runner" and "Long River" in front and controlling the race up till about 1 mile, I can see "Arrogate" sitting handy in 3rd or 4th place, then "Arrogate" will take over entering the final furlong or so, and he will go on to win by 3 to 7 lengths, with "Gun Runner" finishing 2nd (possibly 3rd) and "Hoppertunity" finishing very well to finish 3rd (or possibly 2nd). But one thing is for sure, "Arrogate" is the 2017 Dubai World Cup winner. :-)
1st Arrogate, 2nd Gun Runner, 3rd Hoppertunity
I can't believe the World's Best Jockey Ryan Moore is riding this horse in the Dubai World Cup. Well one thing's for sure, if Moore manages to get "Lani" to win the Dubai World Cup, it will be the best ride of his career, and the BEST RIDE EVER, BY ANY JOCKEY, PERIOD!!!! lol
Worked 5f today, 3/21 in 59.80, 5/43. Looks great.
Arrogate draws post position #9 of 14 for Saturday's G1 Dubai World Cup, with Keen Ice, Neolithic, & Hoppertunity all drawn outside of Arrogate. Keen Ice is in post position #10, Neolithic in post position #11, & Hoppertunity in post position #12.
