Older Comments...

This is a very promising and well-bred colt. Look for this one down the road.
You can tell a horseman from a fan when they start guranteing the BC winner as the KY DERBY Winner. So many things change from 2 yrs to three. I have a bunch ill list to watch as potential KY DERBY winners but never would gurrantee a winner in NOV or December. Only a fan would do that
American Gal / Union Strike / Berned / Go on Mary
He didn't make it, he has a death report on file with the Jockey Club.

His name means cemetery in Arabic.
Such a small field of contenders
A horse basically needs to finish on the board for the connections to break even...Not sure if we will get a full gate for this one.
  • DarthKoalaBear via Disqus · If that is true (and it might be) then there are going to be several unhappy millionaires holding a gate that they thought was going to be a golden ticket, and turned out to be only the tinfoil around the chocolate bar. You know, this would make a good movie adult version of Willie Wonka. "Frank Stonach and the Magic Golden Horse Race." Which owner turns into a giant carrot, and which owner gets stretched to ten feet tall, and which owner falls into a giant pile of horse manure..... and the jockeys could take the place of the Oompa Loompas. Someone should pay me for coming up with this idea! LOL · 16 hours ago
Such a beautiful name.
Honestly, this edition of the Derby has horses with the best names. Interesting variety.
How's he doing?
So it appears that you were a little premature on the Stradivari news...
Candy Boy wins it this time.
And yes, one more debating post.... There have been no match races since the Ruffian tragedy of '75. Are there any you would like to have seen, just the two horses? You could argue between two horses that avoided each other (RA vs. Zenyatta), or a pair that faced each other frequently and had a great rivalry - Alydar vs. Affirmed, Sunday Silence vs. Easy Goer. My choice for the great match race that never was? It would have been fall 2012 at Ascot - Frankel (undefeated, mile specialist) vs. Black Caviar (undefeated, 6 furlong specialist) at 7 furlongs on the turf. Two undefeated champions, male vs. female. In the era of online pay-per-view, this match race, even at $10+ million purse, could have paid for itself.
This is not really related to the Pegasus, but since there is no "Potpourri" thread, I thought I would put this here. What great horses, do you think, detracted from their greatness by not racing a certain rival of their era? a) Man O'War is considered the greatest ever, but avoided Exterminator. Is that a legitimate knock against him? Could Exterminator have beaten him, perhaps if Man O'War even spotted him weight? Remember that he spotted a decent but not great 3-year-old 26 lbs. in the Dwyer, and won, but it took some effort. b) How about Native Dancer avoiding Tom Fool? ND is considered the greater horse, yet Tom Fool was horse of the year in '53, and had the second greatest 4-yo campaign of all time (first being Spectacular Bid in 1980). c) What about Zenyatta not facing Rachel Alexandra? Would RA have beaten her on a non-synthetic track? Do any other examples come to your mind?
Does anyone know what is going on with Lady Stardust. Is she going to race again? She almost broke the track record in her first start. She is a beauty!!

  • Sullivan · I doubt it -- he was nice horse, but did not have the spark to keep up with Arrogate down the lane and it's not fair to assume he would've progressed into this year as Chrome did · 2 days ago
  • Ruffianlover · Why are you posting about shared belief on Chrome'/ page? Get out of here with that trolling · 1 day ago
Will be bred to Shalaa for a 2018 foal
