Will race in the tenth race at Churchill on Saturday from Post 7. Rooting for him.
QUOTE:"his acceleration at the end of a 1.5 mile race when other horses were backing up." I was impressed with the colt as he ran by us at the 1/8th pole, BUT any acceleration was minimal (hundredths of a second) at that point in the race as he made all the fractions. His run was a classic sustained move from wire to wire.

  • Ruffianlover · He ran his final quarter faster than secretariat. He was definitely not slowing down like everyone else was actually pulling away to a greater lead from frosted. Nice try · 5 hours ago
  • By The Numbers · It was minimal, but he WAS accelerating - so the point is valid. He went :24.34 from the 1/2 to 1/4 pole, and went :24.32 from the 1/4 pole to the wire. But, he went :24.77 from the Start to the 1 1/4 pole. So from that point to the finish, he took 3 lengths off of his 1/4 mile fraction - very impressive · 2 hours ago
Words cannot describe how much I will miss seeing this horse run. As much as I love and will mis Pharoah, there was just something about Honor Code that I loved so much. Maybe it was his beauty, his stubbornness, him being from AP Indy's last crop, his incredible closing kick, or his ability to do things all on his own, I don't know but I loved this horse and I wish him a long and successful stud career, and will look forward to seeing his babies on the track. Goodbye Honor Code and thank you for the awesome memories <3
  • honor code via Disqus · Great comment💚 Honor Code was, and still is, AMAZING💚 I wrote to him after he retired, and he sent me a Honor Code hat!! I love it! Here is a picture of it😀 like we said, hes awesome😍😍😍😍 · 9 hours ago
Just a cutie!
Perfect Title has an upset chance here.
If Frivolous runs here, she would be the deserving favorite with her CD stakes win this year and the last couple of races against the top of her division. But I'm hoping the up and comer Tiz So Sweet and comebacker Birdatthewire will make their presence felt in this one as well.
I will never understand how anyone can call themselves a fan of horse racing and not love this horse with all their heart. His mechanics are mesmerizing and incredibly unique. Everyone's a critic, but the critics with the most highly qualified credentials are the ones who's opinions mean the most, and they routinely fall all over themselves gushing about him.
Massive win for Maurice. Best in the world at a mile?
  • SharedBelief1 via Disqus · How about Tepin? · 3 days ago
  • ILuvTurfRacing · Maurice has now got an entry into the upcoming G1 Hong Kong Mile. We'll see if he's the best in the world at a mile on turf having to face Able Friend on home ground. Able Friend ran a sub-par 3rd last time out in the G2 Jockey Club Mile, or at least sub-par by his standards, the first time he'd been beaten in 8 starts at Sha Tin, but I'm not sure I'd count him running another back to back bad races. · 5 hours ago
Dortmund looks to be in a good spot in the Native Diver, hope he runs well. Stevens might think he's on Point Given on Saturday!
BREAKING NEWS: Voting is now open for the sixth annual winner of the Secretariat Vox Populi Award. Created by Secretariat's owner Penny Chenery, the Vox Populi, or “Voice of the People,” Award recognizes the racehorse whose popularity and racing excellence best resounded with the public and gained recognition for the sport during the past year. Three nominees were selected by the Vox Populi Committee, and voters again have the option to write-in a racehorse of their choice. The nominees are the following: American Pharoah Beholder Rachel's Valentina Article on http://www.paulickreport.com/news/thoroughbred-racing/voting-now-open-for-secretariat-vox-populi-award-2/
The Vox Populi award goes to a horse that brought a lot to horse racing throughout the year. I know all of them are deserving in some ways of this award but the number one equine on the list for this award is American Pharoah. Now, I know we all have some sentimental reasons to vote on another but how can anyone vote against AP for bringing fans and bringing so much to this sport this year...A Triple Crown winner....hard to vote against that even though he's got HOTY and Three Year Old Male Champion Eclipse Awards in the bag.
As i predicted after the Maiden Win at first asking . Marking has been entered in the Cigar Mile . I would be absolutely shocked if he does not show up with a monster effort. He will be getting 13 lbs from the 2 favorites . That translates into roughly 2.5 lengths. By drawing the rail , Ortiz should be able to negotiate a very favorable trip. Nathan i do not know who is making my taste buds stand up and cheer more. The Turkey or Marking. Other than Vyjack, rarely have i awaited a horses race like this one.
If you are looking for not only a price in the Clark, but a serious contender. Look no further than this guy. Went into his last race working lights out. Never really ran to the works. After looking at the replay, he never got comfortable with the track that day. From sitting a perfect trip 3rd on the rail,he kept taking to the outside. Seemed as though the jock sensed it,and tried to find a part of the track he would like. So far in his career, the CD strip has been to his liking. Nathan,do not pass him up. Also on the wrong coast,Recepta will be making her appearance. Should be very formidable.
Does anyone know how many mares are possibly going to be lined up for AP next year?
Iron Fist is in this race. Before the return of Dortmund and with the retirement of AP still IMO Iron Fist is probably the fourth best three year old in the country after AP, Frosted and Keen Ice.(you could make an argument for Upstart being ahead though) This horse beat AP in that maiden race and made Frosted have to try in the PA Derby. This won't be as easy as I thought for Dortmund Iron Fist is better than anything he had to beat at the Big Bear by far.
Dortmund should coast in this race, Iron Fist is pretty good too. Knowing Gary Stevens, he won't win by anymore than he needs to, my prediction is Dortmund by an easy 3 lengths with Iron First 2nd.
Very excited to see this one entered in the Cecil B Demille. Definitely will be my pick in that race!
My picks for the cigar mile are 1. Marking 2. Tonalist 3. Mshawish.
I think she deserves the Vox Populi this year. She overcame all adversity with grace and determination.Shes touched my life and I'll be forever grateful.I'm writing Lady Eli in as my 2015 Vox Populi champion.
BREAKING NEWS: Undefeated G1 winner Lady Eli will ship from Dell Ridge Farm in Kentucky to Chad Brown's Palm Meadows Stables in south Florida over the weekend. Lady Eli was deemed fit to travel as her laminitis has been contained and continues to get better. She will ship to Chad Brown but no word yet on when she will begin light training, she will take it one day at a time. The fact that Lady Eli is coming back to Chad Brown is a miraculous recovery in itself. Article on DRF to be posted later today.
