Zenyatta Tops HRN Active Power Rankings

Zenyatta topped the first weekly snapshot of Horse Racing Nation's Active Power Rankings for Tuesday, August 24.  She was followed by Met Mile winner Quality Road in second, with Blame in third just slightly ahead of Rachel Alexandra.  The Preakness and Haskell hero, Lookin at Lucky, rounded out the top five.

Blame and Lookin at Lucky continue to move upward slightly in the rankings, as both are riding multiple win streaks.

All of the rankings are determined by Horse Racing Nation visitors, who can rate each horse 1 through 10 stars each week.  For example, Zenyatta leads all active horses with a rating of 9.69, followed by Quality Road with 8.71.  In this way, the Top 250 Active horses are listed in order in the Power Rankings each week.

Fans can vote any time during the week, and the ratings and rankings adjust upwards and downwards continuously.  Fans can access the Top 250 Active Power Rankings, which are updated every 30 minutes every day.

The next five were led by 2-year-old sensation Kantharos, followed by Gio Ponti who dropped slightly following his loss in the Arlington Million.  They are followed by Goldikova in eighth, Rail Trip and Presious Passion.  Kentucky Derby winner Super Saver is 11th.

Earlier this summer, HRN also released Power Rankings for 2-year-olds and 2-year-old fillies.  This is a great way to track these future stars as they get their careers untracked.

The 2-year-olds are led by Kantharos, then followed by Del Mar Graduation winner Bench Points and Best Pal (G2) winner J P's Gusto.  Boys at Tosconova, who recorded a 103 Beyer figure for his impressive debut win at Belmont for trainer Rick Dutrow, is in fourth, with the Tyro stakes winner Vengeful Wildcat in fifth.

Position Limit, the impressive winner of the Grade 2 Adirondack leads the 2-year-old fillies, followed by Schuylerville (G3) winner Le Mi Geaux and Sorrento (G3) winner Wickedly Perfect.  Saratoga maiden winner Valiant Passion and Churchill Debutante (G3) winner Just Louise round out the top five.

All of the rankings will continue to update every 30 minutes based on fan voting, and a new snapshot of the rankings will be released each Tuesday morning.
