Zenyatta, Lookin At Lucky BC Classic Favs

William Hill rates defending champ Zenyatta and Preakness and Haskell winner Lookin At Lucky as 4-1 co-favorites for the Breeders' Cup Classic as the British bookmakers opened for Cup business on Tuesday. Hill offers Whitney winner Blame at 6-1, with Whitney runner-up Quality Road at 8-1, followed by Travers one-two Afleet Express and Fly Down both at 12-1 along with Rachel Alexandra. Read More

bob46, maybe you should get some reality into your life. This year has been the worst crop of 3yo for as long as I've been watching horse racing. mdracing69 is right. The real competition that hasn't been showing up to Zenyatta's races are running scared because she's just that good.
bob46, have you ever considered that Zenyatta is not ducking the competition. Rather, the quality female horses across the country have no interest in running against the win machine. It is not like Zenyatta is running in restricted races. She showed up in the G1 Apple Blossom on dirt. Where was the real competition? Possibly running scared?
medlocke you have the nerve to state that lucky has been running against the worst group of three olds, when in fact Zenyatta has been running against a bunch of glorified allowence horses. Please get a little reality in your life. Does her competition collectively have one win this year. In the history of horse racing, For a horse that is in the running for horse of the year her schedule has been the softest possible. She has not raced against not one credible advisory. I have one thing to say, WHERE'S the BEEF?????
I have to agree with you, medlocke. Well said.
Horses with her style have to be lucky too and she makes her own luck out of grit.
No horse in the world. Male or female has yet to prove that they are capable of beating Zenyatta. Until another horse proves they're capable of beating Zenyatta. I scoff at the notion that any other horse but Zenyatta should be favorite for the 2010 Breeders Cup Classic. Granted. Lookin At Lucky is a rapidly improving 3yr.old colt. But he's a 3yr.old colt that has beaten up on what probably has to be the overall worst crop of American 3yr.old colts that I can remember in eons. To suggest that Lookin At Lucky is the Classic co-favorite under-mind's Zenyatta's accomplishments. And also is a slap in the face of Blame. An older colt that just took down Quality Road. The horse everyone thought was a "total beast" on conventional dirt. It's also William Hill thumbing their noses at the quality fields that Blame has already beaten at Churchill Downs. In the 09' Clark Handicap. And the 2010 Stephen Foster Handicap. The 09' Clark may have been a G2 race on paper. But it was loaded with G1 winners. Misremembered, Einstein, Macho Again, and Bullsbay. Lucky is by far the best 3yr.old colt in America on conventional dirt. But is he in Blame's or Zenyatta's league? Not in my opinion. I could see him figuring in the minor placings. But none of these horses are going to deny Zenyatta another Breeders Cup Classic. She's just got entirely too much talent, and too many gears to draw upon. Basically, she's just too much mare for all the boys. IMO.
