This is the part of horse racing that is unfair.  It’s cruel.  Sometimes it’s heartless.

But it happens every day.  It happened to a nice man in Kentucky named Hal Wiggins when the brilliant filly Rachel Alexandra was snatched from his care and sent to fellow trainer Steve Asmussen.  Wiggins did nothing wrong.   The owner just happened to sell the filly to a new owner for an offer he couldn’t refuse.  And the new owner wanted his own trainer.

Hopefully QR comes back strong, he's that good.
Tough break for Jerkens. Other than forgetting to nominate Quality Road to the Triple Crown...seemed like he had done a pretty good job race wise with the colt, when not having to deal with the problematic quarter cracks.
