Xpressbet Partners with Hong Kong Jockey Club

Sha Tin Panorama
Leading online wagering provider, Xpressbet, is excited to announce it has partnered with the Hong Kong Jockey Club to bring live, commingled wagering on Hong Kong races to Xpressbet’s platform in the United States.  Xpressbet customers can wager on the races from Hong Kong beginning July 1, 2014.  Hong Kong racing is famous for offering the world’s largest pools, which currently average more than $17 million per race, and the highest prize money per race worldwide, as well as world-class racing at its two premier racing venues, Sha Tin and Happy Valley.

Combined, Sha Tin and Happy Valley host 83 live racing dates each year, with fixtures held from mid-September through mid-July.  Racing at Sha Tin usually takes place Sunday afternoon, starting at 1:00am ET on Sunday in the United States, while racing at Happy Valley is generally held Wednesday evening, starting at 7:15am ET Stateside.  Xpressbet customers will be able to wager into Hong Kong’s most popular commingled pools - Win, Place, Quinella, Swinger (Quinella Place) and Trifecta (Tierce).

Marquee races in Hong Kong regularly attract the best racehorses from Europe, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, the Middle East and North America, and no event in Hong Kong is more significant than the LONGINES Hong Kong International Races.  These four Group 1 turf races – the LONGINES Hong Kong Cup, LONGINES Hong Kong Vase, LONGINES Hong Kong Mile and LONGINES Hong Kong Sprint - are held each December at Sha Tin, and are collectively known as ‘the turf world championships’.  In addition, Sha Tin hosts the Audemars Piguet QEII Cup and the Champions Mile each Spring, along with the BMW Hong Kong Derby.

“At Xpressbet, we pride ourselves on providing our customers access to the best racing in the world, and adding racing from Hong Kong to our wagering menu is something that we’re very excited to do,” said Xpressbet President, Ron Luniewski.  “Our customers will have access to Hong Kong’s enormous commingled pools and top-quality racing, and we look forward to helping the Hong Kong Jockey Club build a new fanbase in the United States.”

The Hong Kong Jockey Club’s Executive Director of Racing, Mr. William A. Nader, said: “This is a significant announcement in the development of commingling and the extension of our world-class racing across America. Since we began commingling with the US in late March, we have seen a consistent and encouraging level of investment from American racing fans. This agreement with Xpressbet will add significantly to our following in the US.”

Xpressbet customers can watch high-quality, live video for every race from Hong Kong, and can access free past performances at www.xpressbet.com.  In addition, past performance information on individual horses, as well as an official program, video replays of all races and barrier trials, veterinary history and morning track work records of all horses are available free of charge at www.hkjc.com in both English and Chinese.
