When Jackson Bend won the $98,500 Frank Gomez Memorial Stakes for
two-year-olds Saturday at Calder Race Course, he gave a big boost to
his connections.
The two-year-old colt became the first stakes winner for his sire,
Hear No Evil, who promptly shot up the freshman sire standings in
Florida and the nation. Hear No Evil now ranks second in Florida behind
Wildcat Heir and seventh nationally, ahead of such stallions as Rock
Hard Ten, Consolidator, Afleet Alex and Ghostzapper.
