I expect Winchester to be as equally a formidable opponent for Cape Blanco over 1-1/2 as Gio Ponti was over 1-1/4 in the Man O' War and Arlington Million. That said, I still can't see past Cape Blanco winning a third straight American G1 turf stakes in the Joe Hirsch Turf Classic. Cape Blanco's a proven G1 winner at 1-1/2 himself in Europe. Where it's no secret that the middle distance turf competition is a good deal tougher than it is in America. JMO.
Winchester's gonna have his hand's full with Cape Blanco!! Cape Blanco's not just a 10f horse. He's got a win in the G1 Irish Derby over 12f, and a 2nd place finish behind Harbinger, but ahead of Youmzain, Daryakana, and Workforce in the G1 King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes over 12f.
