People what to see stars play...The attendance at Anita would always be higher when old John Henry ran........Star power works....Good friend stated that the NTRA should have purchased FUnny Cide and just taken him around to tracks visiting to show the fans a real K Derby winner.
Horse racing like many other things works on the principle of supply and demand unfortunately they have lost the interest of the youth. To many other exciting things happening than going to the races and seeing maybe 20 good 3yos and older Mares racing.All the good ones go right to stud. The cut their own throats.

If only the legislators would put the Slot Revenue issue in front of the voters , we may be able to see higher purses ? I just dont see the legislators doing this however . Has anyone taken the time to note the number of Texas license plates in AR, OK and LA and NM at their tracks
I hope that the TRC approves the new ownership. Its so disappointing to not have quality Horse Racing in this state. We are stuck with declining purses and a limited spring summer meet at LSP and a little attended Qtr horse season>
