Who Am I ???

Who Am I ???

*Bred in the great state of Kentucky, I was foaled at one of America's most legendary farms.

*I wasn't the first champion for my famous sire, far from it.

*Finishing first or second in my final eleven starts, I was able to raise my career record to 88% at running 1-2.

*My longest winning streak lasted five starts, with four of them coming in grade 1 races.

*Hall of Fame horses did not scare me ... I defeated three of them.

*My final career win came in an important race that unfortunately, is no longer run.

*The distance range of my wins spanned four furlongs, while the distance range of all my races spanned ten furlongs.

*My initial try in stakes company saw me finish a wide, but rallying, 4th at Keeneland.

*In my two starts in Maryland, I won a stakes race by 8 lengths, and finished 2nd in a Grade 1.

*My trainer won the Eclipse Award as Outstanding Trainer, but he only did it once.

*No, I never met Tupac Shakur or The Notorious B.I.G.

You should know by now … Who Am I ???

amen to that. and, i found the program!
We were all lucky to have grown up with fall racing at Belmont in the 70's!
knowing my packrat tendencies, i probably have that information somewhere - almost certainly still have the program
What a horse. Underrated. Way to go, Mr. Harris.
What section were you in ... I was there as well. Winning the Travers by 10 and then beating Forego and Foolish Pleasure two straight in the fall sealed the deal, imo. Congrats again, Michael!
Good job, Michael H.
oh, and all these years later, i still think foolish pleasure wuz robbed of the three year old title :-P
i had the pleasure of being at belmont park on my 11th birthday for his final career win, in the now-discontinued marlboro cup. i knew that he had beaten hall of famers foolish pleasure, forego, and ancient title. the rapper thing threw me off, but when i checked and saw that steve dimauro had won one eclipse award, i took a shot.
87.5% finishes in first/second
He was owned by East-West Stable, Patti.

Welcome back, Champ ... tell us how you nailed down this one.
