Who Am I ???

Who Am I ???

*Bred in Kentucky, my grandsire was of one of America's most influential sires.

*My first stakes victory came in a race I would go on to win three times.

*A winner of 43% of my races, I also finished in the money in 75% over my four-year racing career.

*I was the first champion of several for my well known second racing owner.

*After my racing career, I went to stud at his farm in Maryland.

*I was beaten by the same horse in both the Breeders' Futurity and Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes.

*Yes, I raced in early May at Churchill Downs, finishing second in an important stakes race at odds of 12-1.

*I won at eight different distances ranging from 5 ½ furlongs to 1 ¼ miles.

*My final career win came in a stakes race in the mud at Saratoga.

*In my twelve starts at Saratoga, I won eight times, including seven in a row.

*My final career start came in a race with the same name as a Horse of the Year.

You should know by now … Who Am I ???

Congrats, Greg ... Vanderbilt had some great horses at Sagamore over the years. Interestingly, Discovery is the only Horse of the Year ever to win it despite another horse winning the Triple Crown.
Dang it. That was my first ever try on "Who Am I???" I was to late! Nice job, Greg!
Thanks Brian! Maryland was hint I went with, knowing history of Sagamore did it for me. I will take the "120 Beyer", thanks again :-)
Thanks!
Great try, rafirox!
Well done, Greg ... a 120 Beyer at least! How did you solve this one?
Discovery?
