What's Going On With Overdriven?

Grade 2 Sanford winner Overdriven will undergo tests following the cancellation of Thursday morning’s scheduled breeze, trainer Todd Pletcher said.

The colt, owned by Repole Stable, stepped onto the main track shortly after the renovation break under exercise rider Patti Krotenko, poised to breeze a half-mile in company as he prepared for the Grade 1 Three Chimneys Hopeful on September 5.

However, after watching Overdriven jog on the track, Pletcher cut the work short and had Krotenko gallop him 1 ½ miles instead.

“I am a little uncomfortable with the way the horse is moving on the racetrack,” said Pletcher. “He seems fine back at the barn and all the tests we’ve done seem negative. I’m just not happy with the way he’s moving, so I am going to [schedule] a nuclear scintigraphy just to be safe.”

Pletcher said plans for the Three Chimneys Hopeful are up in the air.

“We’ll wait and see,” he said.

Not another Repole horse injured! I love this colt and hope he's alright!
