VIDEO: Risen Star Stakes 2013 Preview

In this week's Kentucky Derby 2013 contenders video, HRN Master Handicapper Jarrod Horak talks Derby with Molly Jo Rosen of RacingwithBruno.com!

Find out who they say has what it takes to win the Risen Star at rainy Fair Grounds Saturday. Will Normandy Invasion make his 2013 debut a winning one? Can Oxbow repeat his strong LeComte performance? What about Proud Strike, the horse Hall of Famer Gary Stevens is coming in to ride?

All of those questions and more will be answered in the video below!

Oxbow will take down this race on his way to the louisiana derby!
all tracks favor speed, at least the real dirt ones, when it rains. Horses, for the most part, don't care for mud kicked in their face so the clean silk syndrome occurs often through the day in the slop.
Nice job Jarrod & Molly Jo. This is a tough race because of the way FG is playing (Speed bias) and fact it will be OFF. I typically love Closers (Proud Strike & Normandy Invasion), but it ain't happening here. Since there is plenty of early speed, it's a crap shoot as to who gets a clean break and first run into the clubhouse turn. I'll go with PALACE MALICE (8-1) as he should get a nice Stalking trip, and love the stretchout and OFF track, just as his Daddy (Curlin) did.
