Uncaptured Faces Eleven Rivals in Spiral Stakes

Entries for the $550,000 Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati Spiral Stakes (G3) at Turfway Park this Saturday were drawn Wednesday at the home of the race's title sponsor. The draw brought no surprises, with all reported probables entering.

Oddsmaker Mike Battaglia marked Uncaptured the 3-1 favorite in a well-matched field of 12. The colt comes in off two straight stakes wins and a six-for-seven record as a 2-year-old, but the Spiral will be his first start since November. After a graduated series of shorter breezes, trainer Mark Casse sent him out for a one-mile breeze over the all-weather surface at the Ocala Training Center on March 12, which he completed in good order in 1:40 flat.

Results of the Spiral Stakes draw:

Post Horse Trainer Jockey Morning Line
1 Balance the Books Chad Brown Julien Leparoux 7-2
2 Channel Isle D. Wayne Lukas Jon Court 15-1
3 Uncaptured Mark Casse Miguel Mena 3-1
4 Fear the Kitten Michael Maker Rosie Napravnik 15-1
5 My Name is Michael Bill Mott Joel Rosario 10-1
6 For Greater Glory Steve Hobby Robby Albarado 20-1
7 Mac the Man Jeff Greenhill Norberto Arroyo Jr. 10-1

Uncaptured to win and Uncaptured/Channel Isle Exacta. I also Like Crop Report in the Rushaway.
Hey furlonger/bigbill. If you know/see Pat, tell him the Marine that used to run around the joint back in the '80's said hi
Black Onyx is another price to watch here. I'll use Uncaptured but too many good prices out there to even think about Balance the Books and Capo Bastone IMO
hey furlonger i know albin jimenez agent(bert crawford) personally he is one of best friends. also furlonger i have extra passes to the spiral if u want to go. let me know we will have a wonderful time
i rented a apartment to miguel mena and alonso quinones in florence ky when they first came to america. now look at them they are doing really well. they didnt have a pot to piss in when they first got here. now miguel mena has a legitamate shot to win the derby WOW.
i think 3-1 on uncaptured is way too high. there willbe all these handicappers that wont bet him and balance the books just because of their layoffs. i think uncaptured has the edge since hes been working on the poly in ocala. his record speaks for itself. he loves poly and dirt(probably BROKEN GLASS too)LOL
Vote for General Election. Local Jockey. I will be there watching this and I will be cashing in ☺☺
Balance your books bc that's a winner!
Some interesting angles in this one: Will Balance the Books take to the synthetic? Does Lukas have another bullet to fire with Channel Isle? What will Uncaptured show as a 3YO? Will the real Capo Bastone please stand up? Or will one of the locals steal the show?
