R All That I Am will try to become the second repeat winner of the
$75,000-added Cat’s Cradle Handicap Sunday at Hollywood Park.
An
ungraded race for California
bred fillies and mares, the Cat’s Cradle is run at 7 ½ furlongs over Cushion
Track. Besides the defending champ, five others are scheduled to start. Post
time Sunday is 12:30 p.m. The Cat’s Cradle is the second of nine races.
Owned
by breeder Tommy Town Thoroughbreds and trained by Jerry Hollendorfer, U R All
That I Am is 2-for-2 over Cushion Track. She won the 2009 Cat’s Cradle by 2 ½
lengths, then captured the B. Thoughtful – also at 7 ½ furlongs – on California
Gold Rush Day April 24.
A
4-year-old daughter of Valid Wager and the Fort
Calgary mare Fort Silver,
U R All That I Am has won nine of 20 and earned $370,219. The only double
winner of the Cat’s Cradle is Supercilious. She won the first two runnings for
owner-breeder Herman Sarkowky and trainer Richard Mandella in 1997 and 1998.
Camille
C, who won the Melair Stakes on Gold Rush Day, is shortening up and returning
to state bred company after finishing fifth in the grassy Matriarch, a Grade I,
Nov. 26.
Trained
by Marcelo Polanco for his brother Carlos Polanco, Camille C has won three of
17 and banked $298,551. She is a 3-year-old Roman Dancer filly out of the Rahy
mare Paris Operetta.
Ultra
Blend has won six of 16 and earned $317,246 for owner Nels Erickson and trainer
Art Sherman. A 4-year-old daughter of Richly Blended and the Desert Classic
mare Ankha, Ultra Blend comes off a victory in the California Cup Matron Oct.

Association will be looking for her third win in a row for owner-breeders Pam
and Marty Wygod and trainer Cliff Sise, Jr.
A
3-year-old Benchmark filly and the Deputy Minister mare Social Savvy, Word
Association has won three of 12, earning $90,160.
The
field is completed by two more 3-year-olds, Warren’s
Got Game and Warren’s
Jitterbug. Both are owned by breeder Benjamin Warren and trained by Jorge
Gutierrez.
A
daughter of Ancient Art and the Elusive Quality mare Go for Quality, Warren’s Got Game has won
once in four starts. She’s earned $38,580. The Cat’s Cradle will be her first
race since she finished sixth in the Torrey Pines Stakes Sept. 5 at Del Mar.
An
Affirmative filly out of the Peaks and Valleys mare Jitterbug Jan, Warren’s Jitterburg has
won three of 16 and earned $230,238. She was third in the California Cup Matron
in her last start.
