Twirling Candy, who was being aimed for the Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile (gr. I) at
Churchill Downs Nov. 5, has been retired from racing because of an
injury, according to Daily Racing Form.
The 4-year-old colt, raced by Craig Family Trust, Martin Wygod, and
William S. Farish, will be headed to Farish’s Lane’s End Farm near
Versailles, Ky., where he will begin his stallion career in 2012.
Trainer John Sadler told the Form that the injury is a slight strain.
The loss came several days after grade I-winning filly Zazu, another
of Sadler’s trainees, was retired because of inflammation in a shoulder.
