TK Stables’ Travel Advisory
challenged for command after being set down for the drive in Sunday’s
$49,000 allowance and $50,000 optional claiming grass test at Fair
Grounds, drew off quickly and
then completed his run with a 1 3/4-length victory under intermittent
urging.
The winner, trained by
Kellyn Gorder and ridden by C. J. McMahon, toured the about 1 1/16-mile distance over a
Stall-Wilson turf course
rated “good” in 1:46.12, increased his career earnings to $52,985 with
his second win in seven lifetime starts and returned mutuels o $21.20,
$11 and $8.20.
Jim Tafel’s
All Stormy, unhurried
early, closed willingly late to be easily second best, paying $8.80 and
$5.60, but could not seriously threaten the winner.
Stoneway Farm’s
Atlantic Titan, never far
back, had lacked the needed late response but held down the show spot at
the wire, returning $14.20 while 4 3 /4-lengths farther back.
Gary and Mary West’s
Control Tower and Shadwell Stable’s
Mabroom alternated on the early lead with splits of 23.82 and 48.42 but tired from their efforts.
