With a large field in Derby, speed, rating, and closers will al show their stuff.Closer is Dialed In with a great jockey in the saddle.Zito knows how to win this race and what it takes.
i thought that brethren would have won or at best finish 2nd or 3rd in oaklawn derby, he was my pick for derby but now it seems like a wide open derby this year....right now am leaning towards mucho macho man, its a feel good story & if he wins it will be a great story for horseracing & triplecrown!!!
Although both will be extreme outsiders in the Derby, I believe Decisive Moment might stand a little better chance than Stay Thirsty. He stuck around pretty well in the Spiral after contending with hot fractions, and I think he'll like the surface at Churchill. Mucho Macho Man appears to have run his prep race on Saturday working 7 furlongs in a strong 1:23.65. Animal Kingdom is bred for turf on top and bottom, but I think he kind of runs like a dirt horse. His form was added to by Twinspired's Blue Grass run, it will be important to see him work over the track at Churchill. Animal Kingdom also may move up on slop. Lastly, Pants On Fire seems to have turned a new leaf since his upset win in the Louisiana Derby with another bullet workout.
