Today's Derby contender works included a four furlong breeze from Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf show finisher Willcox Inn. The Michael Stidham trainee goes next in Saturday’s grassy Grindstone Stakes at Fair Grounds and Rosie Napravnik rides. Aces N Kings worked four furlongs on Wednesday and is also entered in the Grindstone.      

 

#43 Willcox Inn – Breezed 4f in :49.20 (10/35) at Fair Grounds.

#47 Aces N Kings – Went and easy 4f in :51 at Diamond D Ranch.   

#72 Thirtyfirststreet – 4f in :48.40 (20/41) at Santa Anita.

#85 Fort Larned – 5f on turf in 1:00 (15/16) at Palm Meadows.

Vengeful Wildcat (#103) uncorked a 3f bullet in :36.06 (1/10) at Belmont Park (training track). Sinai (#155) went 4f in :49.80 (33/41) at Santa Anita. Banned (#167) drilled a 4f bullet in :46.60 (1/26) at Tampa Bay. Chipshot (#168) breezed 4f in :52.20 (33/35) at Fair Grounds.

Mucho Macho Man will make his next start in the Louisiana Derby. Impressive Oaklawn Park maiden sprint winner Uncle Brent was purchased privately by Charles Cella and is now under the care of Lynn Whiting. No word on his next start but Whiting ruled out the Rebel Stakes. Corey Lanerie will ride Twinspired in Saturday’s Battaglia Memorial Stakes at Turfway Park.

Not a Derby horse, but Banned could be a dangerous turf 3 year old. :46.6 at Tampa is truly flying.
