Today's Derby contender works included a five furlong breeze from Risen Star runner-up Santiva. He has now worked four times since his 3yo bow and is expected to make his next start in the April 16 Blue Grass Stakes at Keeneland.  

 

#6 Santiva – Breezed 5f in 1:02.20 (5/9) at Palm Meadows.  

#51 Aces N Kings – Easy 4f breeze in :52.40 (1/2) at Diamond D Ranch.

Other Works:

 

Vengeful Wildcat (#107) traveled 5f in 1:00.09 (2/16) at Belmont Park (training track). Ronin Dax (#136) drilled a 5f bullet in 1:01.40 (1/9) at Tampa Bay. Shadow Warrior (#226) went 4f (turf) in :47.20 (2/16) at Palm Meadows.  

 

 

Notes:

 

King Congie has a strained hind leg and will defect from Saturday’s Spiral Stakes at Turfway Park. Bowman’s Causeway will run in the April 3 Florida Derby. Rick Dutrow is leading toward the Swale Stakes as the next start for Flashpoint but he did not close the door on the Florida Derby.
