Today's Derby contender works included
a pair of four furlong bullets. Leave of Absence earned his bullet at Palm Meadows and
Lumberyard Jack was exercising in New
Orleans. The latter is entered in the 5th race
at Fair Grounds on Feb 26 and could try the Louisiana Derby with a big effort
on Saturday. The one mile and seventy yard Optional Claiming route has also
drawn Don Dolce, currently ranked #123 on the HRN Top 250 Derby list.

at Gulfstream Park
for Uncle Mo's
(#1) first start of 2011. The top three Southwest finishers (Archarcharch, J P's Gusto, Elite Alex) will all move on to the March 19 Rebel Stakes at Oaklawn Park. Archarcharch received an 89 BSF for his Southwest victory. Ribo Bobo (#106) is entered in the 3rd race at Gulfstream Park on Feb 24. The Optional Claiming turf route has drawn a field of seven plus a pair of main track only entrants.
