Today's Derby contender works featured a seven furlong move from Jaycito. The Bob Baffert trainee was last seen bolting in the BC Juvenile and has been in steady training at Santa Anita since Jan 12. He will skip the upcoming San Vicente in favor of the March 12 San Felipe. Baffert will be represented in the San Vicente by The Factor and Martin Garcia will ride.    

 

#6 Jaycito – 7f (best of 3) in 1:25.40 at Santa Anita.  

#85 Fort Larned – 4f breeze in :52 (24/25) at Palm Meadows.

#107 Humble And Hungry - Bullet 4f in :50.40 at Classic Mile.

#112 Smash – 4f in :51 (42/51) at Santa Anita.

#152 Sinai - 4f in :47.40 (3/51) at Santa Anita.  

#162 Chipshot - Breezed 3f in :38 at Vinery Stable.

Saturday’s Risen Star Stakes from Fair Grounds has attracted a ten-horse field, headed by Santiva (#4), Rogue Romance (#7), Machen (#14), and Mucho Macho Man (#18). Congo (#120) is entered in the 1st race at Aqueduct on Feb 17.

I saw The Factor's latest work on Youtube and he went very well. He is very leggy and covers a lot of ground. In my opinion The Factor is Baffert's best chance for Triple Crown glory.y
