Jockey Terry Thompson won’t be riding Dublin in the Preakness on Saturday, but the news for the Omaha native isn’t all bad.

Thompson will be riding a different colt, Northern Giant, in the second jewel of the Triple Crown. Both Dublin – ridden by Thompson in the Kentucky Derby – and Northern Giant are trained by D. Wayne Lukas.

“I’m excited to be able to ride him,” the 38-year-old rider said. “To lose a mount in such an important race is tough, but to pick up another is a great thing.”
