Ten Things You Should Know: Hollywood Gold Cup

1) The Hollywood Gold Cup is a Grade 1 race run over the synthetic surface at Hollywood Park in Inglewood, California. The race is run at a distance of 1 1/4 miles and is open to 3-year-olds and up.


2) The race was run for the first time in 1938 and has been run every year since with the exception of 1942 and 1943, when Hollywood Park was closed because of the Second World War.
