TVG, America’s horseracing network, will once again be the destination for Breeders’ Cup racing information when the network’s extensive pre-championship programming kicks off this weekend.
The Best of the Breeders’ Cup debuts Saturday, October 26th at 11amET/8amPT. Next up will be a TVG Classic: Zenyatta’s Classic, debuting Sunday, October 27th, 11amET/8amPT. The Works returns to TVG, airing original episodes Monday-Wednesday Noon ET/9am PT. Leading into Championship Friday & Saturday are two Breeders’ Cup Handicapper’s Previews that can be seenThursday and Friday. TVG Classic; Zenyatta’s Classic, presented by Lane’s End showcases Zenyatta’s triumphant win in the Breeders’ Cup Classic at Santa Anita in 2009. This hour long program shows all angles of her against the boys in the biggest race of the year. The show includes fresh material from jockey Mike Smith, who piloted Zenyatta to the win. First airing of this show is Sunday, 11amET/8amPT.
The Works, presented by CashCall, showcases morning workouts of prominent Breeders’ Cup runners leading up to the World Championships on Nov 1-2 at Santa Anita. Morning workouts are the best visual aid as to how a runner is training up to its biggest race of the year. This allows viewers/customers to reinforce their betting opinion on two of the biggest days of the horseracing calendar. TVG staffs the show with one of the best trainers in the country in Tom Amoss, former jockey Donna Brothers, handicapping expert Simon Bray (also a former trainer) along with hosts Todd Schrupp and Greg Wolf. Highlight of the shows are ‘letter grades’ the analysts apply to each workout, sometimes resulting in heated debates amongst the strong personalities on the set.
