The biggest night of racing in the history of Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races is on tap for Saturday when the Charles Town, WV, oval hosts its first ever Grade II event, the $1 million Charles Town Classic. On-site to present live coverage beginning at 6:00 p.m. ET will be TVG, America’s Horseracing Network.

In addition to the Charles Town Classic, a 1 1/8 mile contest for older horses, the card will feature six stakes with purses totaling $1.6 million. Included in the undercard are the $250,000 Robert Hilton Memorial and the $200,000 Sugar Maple. Scheduled post time for the Charles Town Classic is 10:30 p.m. ET.

"We value our partnership with Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races and look forward to presenting live, on-site coverage of their signature race, the $1 million Charles Town Classic," said Tony Allevato, TVG's Executive Vice President. "The fact the race has been elevated to Grade 2 status is a testament to how important it has become on the racing calendar."

“TVG has been an asset as a partner broadcasting our cards during the week and we’re excited to have them on track for the event,” said Charles Town Director of Racing Operations Erich Zimny.

Simon Bray and Tom Cassidy will host TVG’s overage from Charles Town.

it is a 3/4 mile (6f) dirt race track.
Is Charles town one of those 5f "bullring" type of race courses? I assumed that after watching the 3 turn 9f race last nite.
