Strong Field Lining Up For Arlington Million

Einstein and Gio Ponti are just two of several talented turf horses considering the Aug. 8 race.

Einstein, winner of Churchill’s Woodford Reserve Turf Classic (gr. IT) on Kentucky Derby Day May 2, was most recently third beaten only a length in the Stephen Foster Handicap (gr. What the Nation is saying about Strong Field Lining Up For Arlington Million...

Gio Ponti is really on top of his game right now. He really owns North American turf racing at the moment. But he may find that facing Einstein on grass may be a little tougher than on dirt. But with Gio Ponti having the youth advantage on his side, one wonders when Einstein's age will finally catch up with him. Einstein's last outing in the Stephen Foster on dirt at Churchill Downs wasn't one of his better performances. Even though he managed to hit the board, he looked like a tired and beaten horse midstretch.
I look forward, if it happens, to seeing Gio Ponti and Einstein squaring off against each other.
without a doubt, Million day one of my favorites of the year, should be great if these two show up!
