New York stewards scratched morning-line favorite Proudinsky (Ger) from the Knickerbocker Handicap (G3) on Thursday at Belmont Park, citing questions over the license status of his owner.
Johanna Louise Glen-Teven has been racing Proudinsky as a lessee since owner Gary Tanaka was convicted last November of fraud charges. The New York State Racing and Wagering Board requires the lessee and leasing owner to both be licensed for a horse to race in the state.
