She's a Tiger Puts Perfect Record On Line in Sorrento

She’s a Tiger, two-for-two in her brief career, including a wire-to-wire score in the Landaluce Stakes at Betfair Hollywood Park, will face six two-year-old filly rivals Wednesday in the Grade II $150,000 Sorrento Stakes at Del Mar.

She’s a Tiger, from the barn of Jeff Bonde, will have regular rider  Frank Alvarado in the saddle in the 6 ½ furlong Sorrento, prelude to the division title-deciding Grade I $300,000 Del Mar Debutante Saturday, August 31.

Seeking to upset She’s a Tiger will be Side Letter, Edwin Maldonado; Concave, Mario Gutierrez; E Equalsmcsquared, Mike Smith; Stop Smiling, Julien Leparoux; Santa Lucia, Sal Gonzalez, Jr., and Love Smitten, Saul Arias.

E Equalsmcsquared, to be ridden by Hall of Famer Mike Smith, comes into the Sorrento Stakes off a rallying runner-up effort, beaten less than a length by She’s a Tiger, in the Landaluce.

All of the Sorrento Stakes entrants have at least maiden victories to their credit.
