Sheema Not World Cup for Snow Fairy

DUAL Oaks heroine Snow Fairy is set to bypass the Dubai World Cup and instead take her chance in the Dubai Sheema Classic at Meydan on March 26.

The Ed Dunlop-trained filly, who notched four wins at the highest level in her Classic season, had been as short as 5-1 for the world's richest race but after discussions with owner Cristina Patino it has been decided that she will run over the two furlong longer Sheema Classic on turf on the same card.

Dunlop said on Saturday: "Ultimately the decision, as with all of them, has been taken by Mrs Patino.

"Ryan Moore rode her work this morning and it is something all of us have been thinking about for sometime. We know that she likes fast turf and stays for a mile and a half and it is a valuable and prestigious race in itself."
