Sassy Image Takes Humana Distaff

Sassy Image captures the 2009 Golden Rod Stakes
Horse for course Sassy Image won for the fourth time in five starts at Churchill Downs when she took Saturday's Humana Distaff (Grade 1).

Strong favorite Hilda's Passion took the early lead as expected but was hounded throughout by Tidal Pool.

Sassy's Image bided her time under Robby Albarado and blew right by Hilda's Passion to post an easy seven furlong tally. Dale Romans trains the winner and her final time was 1:21.01. She paid $34.20.

Hilda's Passion had to settle for runner-up honors with Amen Hallelujah, Tidal Pool, Shotgun Gulch, Evening Jewel, and Twelve Twenty Two completing the order of finish.
