The New York Racing
Association, Inc. (NYRA) and Equibase Company will launch the official
“Play Saratoga” Facebook game on Wednesday, August 3.
The free game, developed by Cornett Integrated Marketing Solutions,
includes daily, weekly, and grand prizes, and will run through Labor Day,
September 5, the end of the Saratoga Race Course meet.
Fans can sign up to play through their Facebook accounts by going to
the Equibase Facebook page, the NYRA Facebook page, or by visiting playsaratoga.com.
“We are very pleased to partner with Equibase and bring this
exciting game to our many Facebook fans,” said NYRA President and CEO
Charles Hayward. “NYRA maintains a robust social media presence on
Facebook, Flickr, Twitter, and YouTube, and the Play Saratoga game provides yet
another fun way for people to follow and interact with the best racing in the
country.”
“We have seen the fun social side of Facebook by posting Equibase
Yearbook races and with the creation of the Stats Profile pages app, giving
fans different ways to comment on their favorite horses, jockeys and
trainers,” said Equibase President and COO Hank Zeitlin. “Now with
the Play Saratoga game, fans can actively participate on Facebook with Saratoga's great
racing.”
To earn points, players select the top three finishers of each race on
the Saratoga card
before post time for race one. Scoring for each race ranges from 175 points for
selecting the trifecta in correct order down to 25 points for correctly selecting
a horse to show.
