Santa Anita's inaugural autumn meet minus its
partnership with the Oak Tree Racing Association will begin Friday,
Sept. 30, and run through Sunday, Nov. 6, the track announced Wednesday.
The 24-day meet, which will include the traditional Breeders' Cup
prep races that were run as part of the Oak Tree meet in past years,
will include Thursday-through-Sunday race weeks, with the exception of
the opening three-day week, and a five-day week that will conclude with
Columbus Day on Monday, Oct. 10.
The race dates are pending approval by the California Horse Racing Board, which is expected to be just a formality.
