Santa Anita: M One Rifle wins Malibu, but...

M One Rifle ($16.20) used his speed to take control of the Grade 1 Malibu Stakes at Santa Anita in Saturday, winning the most prestigious race of his career by 2 1-2 lengths. Behind him, several of the runners did not have ideal trips. Runner-up Misremembered raced in traffic on the backstretch and rallied on the rail through the stretch. Supreme Summit, who finished fourth, broke slowly and rallied four-wide. Hunch, who finished fifth, was crowded at the start and was four-wide.
