Sadler Figures in the Hunt at Del Mar

John Sadler expressed pride in winning the training title for the final Hollywood Park spring/summer meeting which ended Sunday. Two wins on the final day boosted Sadler’s total to 29, five more than Mike Puype. Puype completed a season in which he tied a track record with six consecutive victories from June 20-22 with three wins on closing day.

Asked if he expected the Hollywood Park momentum to carry over, Sadler said “It’s hard to say.”

“I’ve been in the mix here the last few years, and I’d certainly expect to be again,” said Sadler, who took Del Mar titles in 2008 and 2009. “I’d describe the stable coming into the meet as ‘interesting’. We’ll have some horses you haven’t seen in awhile , some you have and some new ones.”
