Room Service came charging down the center of the Gulfstream Park turf course to deliver the $100,000 Herecomesthebride Stakes (G3) to owners Gary and Mary West.

Ridden by Joel Rosario for the first time, the daughter of More Than Ready was unhurried as usual in the early stages. Seeking Her Glory set the tempo up front, with favored Candy Kitty in close attendance on the rail. Room Service ($14.40) began to pick off her rivals with a swinging move on the far turn and reached contention entering the stretch. She shifted gears once more and drew away for a two-length victory, and posted a sparkling 1:46.82 for the nine-furlong distance. Candy Kitty was a clear second over her Todd Pletcher-trained stablemate, Seeking Her Glory.

“It was a perfect trip," Rosario remarked. "I hoped that they would go fast up front, and that’s exactly what it seemed like. She wants to come from behind. I wanted to save her so that turning for home, I’d have a lot of horse left. She has a long stride and when she’s ready, she’ll tell you, ‘I’m going now.’"

Room Service scored in her debut on September 25 at Kentucky Downs for trainer Wayne Catalano. She followed that with a third at Churchill a month later, and was a troubled runner-up in her first appearance at Gulfstream on December 13. In her most recent start, the bay filly rallied for third behind Candy Kitty in the $100,000 Sweetest Chant Stakes on January 26 at Gulfstream.

Kelsey Danner, Catalano's assistant trainer, said there were minimal instructions given to Rosario.

"The only thing we told Joel was not to get stuck in traffic," Danner said. "They went maybe a little wider than we would've liked, but it worked out. She loved the distance. She's got such a nice turn of foot. She's shown it in all of her races, but she's finally matured, so it worked out well."

This was the first win in the Herecomesthebride for both Catalano and Rosario.

Room Service, who has now earned $136,565 from five career starts, will likely make her next start in April at Keeneland, according to Danner. Bred in Kentucky, she is a daughter of Dream Lady, who placed in a pair of Grade 3 turf contests for the Wests during her racing career.
