Trainer Tom Howard reported
that Frank Fletcher’s Grade III Arlington-Washington Lassie heroine Rocket Twentyone was in fine fettle Sunday morning and likely to go on to Kentucky
after Arlington closes the doors on its 2011 season Sept. 25.
“Yesterday was a very good day
for us,” said Howard when reached by phone during training hours Sunday
morning.
“In fact, it was a very good
week for us,” added the conditioner who saddled a training double earlier in
the week. “Everything is coming together real nice for us, lately. Also,
we’re not done yet. We’re still in business. We have a few other
horses we have high hopes for before the (Arlington)
season ends.
“(Rocket Twentyone) seems fine
this morning,” Howard added. “We have nothing rock solid in mind for her
just yet but we’re planning on going down to Churchill Downs and camping out
after Arlington.
Maybe there will be a deal for us at Keeneland (possibly the Grade I Alcibiades
Oct. 7), and if that works out for us, maybe they’ll have another deal for us
at Churchill Downs.”
