Ascot Racecourse top story.

REWILDING rewrote the So You Think script by defeating the Australian superstar with a relentless and tireless drive down the straight.

So You Think blitzed clear of his rivals in a stunning display of pace and power at the turn to the straight, but he was reeled in by the indefatigable Rewilding, ridden by Frankie Dettori, who overhauled the favourite in the final strides.

Dettori rose high in his saddle to salute the Ascot grandstand but among those cheering loudest for him will have been the bookies, who had sent off the Aidan O'Brien-trained favourite at 4-11.

What the Nation is saying about Rewilding Surprises So You Think...

I think Ryan Moore committed for home just a tad too early on So You Think in the Prince of Wales, much like Tom Queally did on Frankel in the St James's Palace. But it's not an excuse for So You Think. Because Rewilding is an outstanding horse in his own right. He's definitely a legit G1 horse himself. He ran 3rd behind Workforce in last year's Epsom Derby. He won the G2 Great Voltigeur Stakes at York against a tough field that included Joshua Tree. Who came out of that race to win 2 G1 races. Then he beat a very tough G1 Sheema Classic field in Dubai. Yes sir, a very legit G1 horse. My only concern for Rewilding was that I thought 10f might be a trip too short for him. Being that his biggest career successes to date had all come over 12f. But not a bit of it. A great race where 2 of the world's best on turf came to the fore!!
Nice, HRN had these results up before the Bloodhorse!
