Having
just completed its most successful season in years, Remington Park in
Oklahoma City took steps Tuesday to ensure a successful off-season by
announcing that Dan Fick will become the racetrack's director of racing
in 2011.
This move also could affect Lone Star Park at Grand Prairie. This was
Global Gaming Solutions' first year as the Remington owner. Global
Gaming officials repeatedly have indicated that owning Lone Star Park
woud create many opportunities for synergy between the two racetracks.
If the Texas Racing Commission ever gets around to approving Global
Gaming as Lone Star's new owner -- and it has been 411 days since a
bankruptcy court approved the sale of Lone Star -- it would only make
sense for Fick to be involved at the Grand Prairie track as well...
