Remember This Race?

Race Clue #1 - Contested at a race track in the Northeast, there have been more than 60 editions of this well known race.

Race Clue #2- In this particular edition, the top four finishers all were, or went on to become, multiple graded stakes winners.

Race Clue #3 - The top three finishers were all the same age and became very familiar rivals.

Race Clue #4 - Despite it being only a six-horse field, two of the horses in the race were let go at odds of higher than 70-1.

Race Clue #5 - The odds-on favorite ended up winning, but it only came after a wicked stretch drive.

Race Clue #6 - One of the entrants won the Travers the year before, while another was named 3yo champ.

Race Clue #7 - The winner of the race is the only one of the bunch to be inducted into racing’s Hall of Fame.

Race Clue #8 - The final time of 1:47.92 makes it the third fastest in the history of the race.

Race Clue #9- While half the field were coming in off of races in New York, one entrant was coming from Pimlico, one from Suffolk, and one from Dubai.

Race Clue #10 - After bonuses, the winner’s share of this edition reached a cool half-million.

You should know it by now … Tell me the race and the year!

Hi Brian, Clue #4 made me feel confident it was at at Suffolk Downs, the Mass Cap would always have a mix of serious horses and a few impossible local horses who were badly outclassed. #6 made me think Skip Away and Will's Way. Now if I can only master this comment section!
