Regal Ransom, a graded stakes winner in North America and a group winner the United
Arab Emirates, has been retired from racing and will stand at Darley’s
Jonabell Farm near Lexington in 2012.
A winner at ages 2, 3, and 4, Regal Ransom defeated champion Blame
in the Super Derby (gr. II) as a sophomore, earning a 110 Beyer Speed
Figure. He additionally captured the Saeed & Mohammed Al Naboodah
Group U.A.E. Derby (UAE-II) over a synthetic surface. Trained by Saeed
bin Suroor for Godolphin Racing, he retired with career earnings of
$1,894,835.
A son of champion sire Distorted Humor, Regal Ransom is out of the Red Ransom mare Kelli’s Ransom, who is also the dam of three-time grade I winner Devil May Care.
