Robert Cole Jr.’s Rapid Redux will attempt to win for the 17th consecutive time on Friday night at Charles Town Races in a starter allowance race his trainer said is “the toughest test” he will face during the win streak.

Rapid Redux, a five-year-old gelding by Pleasantly Perfect, will face nine others in the 1 1/16-mile event open to all horses who have started for a $5,000 claiming price in 2010 or 2011. The race will be run as the eighth race with an approximate post time of 10:25 p.m. EDT.

“We’ve picked our spots pretty carefully with him, but this race on Friday night is by far the toughest test he’s going to have faced,” trainer David Wells said. “He’s got a lot of speed, he’s bred to go long, and we’ve kept him fit. Knock on wood, hopefully we keep him sound, too.”

What the Nation is saying about Rapid Redux shoots for 17th straight...

Miguel Santiago, KJB, I told you a long time ago that this horse was going to be a good one. It tickles me that someone else is going to get the GLORY and Not You Knuckleheads! The Best of Luck to Mr. Cole and those surrounding Rapid Redux presently.
Can't wait! I'm nearly as anxious about this race as I was for the BCC!! Ridiculous! LOL
