Rapid Redux Extends Streak to 22

Rapid Redux won his 22nd race in a row on Wednesday, capturing the sixth race at Laurel in his typical front-running fashion.

Breaking well under J.D. Acosta, Rapid Redux made the lead within a half-furlong of the start but never could shake free of chasing Awesome Rhythm, the second choice in the race and a half-length runner-up to Rapid Redux on Dec. 13 at Laurel.

Wonderful comments! I agree with you both, and would like to add to Buckpasser's note, that this sport is built on hope. It is the single connection between the casual weekend fan to the millionaire owner or trainer. I think I found my blog topic for Feb blogger wars :)
Nice comment . Could not agree more. The Rapid Reduxs are the backbone of racing. They give everyone hope that they too could buy a champion for a modest amount of money. Keeps the dream alive.
Rapid Redux is great by any standards, to One or Two races is a task in itself. To think that there are those that would deny this Horse any of the Credit he Deserves is deplorable. Those of us that have gone to the Breeding Sheds with high hopes of raising a winner is always a top priority for us. Then to go to the track to be greeted by all the cynicism that prevails with all the onlookers and then to finally bring on a winner is spectacular. Then to hear all the pundits condemn the Starter Allowance Races as nothing, get real. It is the Journeymnan Horses, Trainers and Jockey's that keep the industry going. Those Mom and Pop operations that are at the track each and every day, bring their kids and grandkids, toiling and working to bring their Pride and Joy to the Races.
