Rapid Redux Attempts to Tie Record

Robert Cole Jr.’s Rapid Redux will attempt to tie the North American record for consecutive victories when he faces four other horses in a starter allowance test at Laurel Park Oct. 27.

The 5-year-old gelding by Pleasantly Perfect   is the heavy morning-line favorite in the $20,000 race at seven furlongs. The North American record for consecutive wins is 19 held by Peppers Pride and Zenyatta.

Rapid Redux, claimed by Cole last year for $6,250, won his last two races going three turns at Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races because of track configuration. He will cut back to one turn at Laurel but is undefeated in a limited number of starts at seven furlongs.

The win streak began Dec. 2, 2010, at Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course, where trainer David Wells is based. Cole is from Maryland.

*troll mode* The equator runs THROUGH South America TV.
That is awesome. Good for him!
‎19 in a row ... that's pretty ... pretty good!!!
in the mud, time was 1:24.07
Congratulations Rapid on 19th in row you freak beast.
congrats to all as it was a tough win
Ever hear of the equator? separates Northern from Southern? Wherw is El Commadante? Which side of that line?
Wrong! Puerto Rico is a territory of the United States an island and by no means part of North America, actually resides closer to South America.
Puerrto Rico is part of the US hence North America so whatever the record there, that is the real North American record
This is just Sad Sad....I pity the entire connection.
My point is "It don't matter about the World Record" this thread is about the North American record. If you want to talk about the World record then start a new thread.
Kincesm, the treasured one, has a dead heat and had to have a run off
likin give us a t-bred that won that many in a row anywhere, 56 is the record mentioned in the Thoroughbred Record
Ok, now will have to send Rapid over to Europe to beat 54 ;-)
Kincsem, people ... 54 for 54!
Article mentions North American record not World record but I wouldn't put that past RR either.
Camarero has the record not this one , cigar or citation. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camarero
