Ramon Rocks the Spa

Have you ever had a really great day at your job? You feel like you can do no wrong as everything seems to go perfectly. It’s a pretty terrific feeling isn’t it? Well now consider the day Ramon Dominguez had after punching the clock at the Spa. Some jockeys can go an entire meet without winning six races. Ramon Dominguez knocked that number off in one afternoon. And of all places to do it, the 35-year-old native Venezuelan did it at Saratoga, America’s greatest race meet. Check out how the day unfolded for Ramon…

First Race – Paper Plane rushes to the lead and gamely holds off Victory Island to win the Allowance race by a neck at 3-1.

Second RaceSummer Front waited patiently before exploding on the outside to win the Duluth Stakes going away by two lengths at 2-5.

Third Race – Rest & Relaxation

Fourth Race – Rigby stalked the early lead before making a quick move to take the lead and rolled home from there to win the $20,000 Claiming race by a 6 ½ lengths at 7-2.

Fifth Race – Current Design relaxed in the middle of the pack before launching a rally that carried him to 2nd one length short of Hardrocker in the Maiden Claiming turf race at even money.

Sixth Race – Rest & Relaxation

Seventh Race – Temper in Command stalked the early lead before taking over in the stretch to win the grassy Maiden Special Weight going away by three lengths at 3-1.

Eighth Race – Reach for a Peach was reserved off the pace early before making steady progress into the stretch and then took command late to win the Allowance turf race by 1 ½ lengths at 2-1.

Ninth Race – Rest & Relaxation

Tenth Race – Wet One was near the back of the pack early, and still sixth in the lane before powering home in the late stages to get up and win $20,000 Claiming race on the turf by a length at 3-1.

Final Tally for Ramon Dominguez today at Saratoga - Seven races, six wins, one second. Bravo, Ramon!

What the Nation is saying about Ramon Rocks the Spa...

He dipped 2nd to Javier since the accident, at one time was more than a million behind & is now trailing less than 500. So wondering how long it'll take him to be #1 again. Is the most interesting jock to follow.
lost in this evaluation is the obvious: top riders make it easy for their agents to line up the top horses..That helps a lot
Dominguez has ridden Hansen perfectly....If that one does not get 9 panels the rider cannot ever be the causitive agent of that shortcoming.
hopefully this translates to hansen winnining
in the WROLD? Even Ramon would not agree with you...Laffit and Bailey are still alive you know
Ramon D. is the best jockey in the world.
Ramon is going to have to buy a lot of donuts this morning!
BEST rider at that or any other track in North America. Was lucky enough to meet him when the wife and I decorted the winner 4th race last year of Alabama day. Very nice fellow
