Politics, cross-entered in Saturday’s $1 million Louisiana
Derby
as well as Friday’s $75,000 Crescent City Derby, will be scratched out of the
Louisiana Derby in favor of a start in the Crescent City Derby restricted to
accredited Louisiana-breds, according to trainer Tom Amoss.
However, the rumored but unconfirmed scratch of George and
Lori Hall’s Pants On Fire out of the Louisiana Derby has turned out to
be unfounded.
“All my four horses for Saturday are already on their way
there (to New
Orleans),” said trainer Kelly
Breen Wednesday. Pants On Fire is on his way, and I’m on my way. I get in
tonight (Wednesday).”
